If you were looking to dissect my style by reading just a few paragraphs on a page, then you were wrong. If I were to reveal everything here, then I wouldn't be able to convince you to read my blog regularly!
So no, and sorry guys, but you'll just have to come back over and over again to see the many facets to my style--it is kaleidoscopic--imagine a canvas where the full portrait is perceptible, yet one needs to look much closer to notice the intricate details that compose the piece. Yep, that's how my style is--influenced by a few iconic fashion figures ("Les Grands Createurs") who paved the way for "Les Createurs" of today.
In a few words: I owe it all to Karl. Yes, Kaiser Karl--Mr. Lagerfeld for those who wish to remain oh so formal. From my early teenage years and fascination for luxury goods and their imagery, I have been unable to take my eyes off of Chanel's head designer and his genius. From introducing ready-to-wear to the market in the 70s, recreating the runway experience to incorporate accessories and jewelry, to presenting the Chanel 2007-2008 Cruise Collection at Santa Monica Airport and creating Chanel Mobile Art for the legendary quilted bag's 50th anniversary, Mr. Lagerfeld never ceases to impress me. He has inspired me in my quest to pursue my passion, find my style and given me the ambition to challenge myself and never be afraid to reinvent the wheel and be even more daring each time.
Dissect My Style will never be your typical blog. They say pictures are worth a thousand words, yet I believe they are much more valuable when words are put next to them. The styles I will portray here will be influenced by my vision and knowledge of fashion, style and creation--all of which I will share with you in words. The styles you will see will be dissected to their very core--the epochs which have influenced their creation and the designers which have interpreted and reinterpreted them, every time with an added twist of modernity.
So be prepared to be creatively stimulated, challenged and educated about the history of fashion, "Les Grands Createurs", today's young "Createurs", and the everlasting process of reinvention and reinterpretation. Be prepared to dissect away, and to be dissected....
